Communication & Body Language
The Lila Poonawalla Foundation has organized a Workshop on Winning with Body Language along with a dance-session for its Lila Fellows. The focus of the workshop was to point out the most important ingredient for success and achievement in personal and professional life i.e. Communication. Trainer, Ms Monika Nair conducted this training.
Statistics show that up to 93% of our communication is nonverbal. However, our body language, facial expressions and other nonverbal behaviour is more important than our verbal content. Therefore it is extremely important to pay attention to our body language and the kind of signals we send out.
Many people do not realise the extent of communicating through their body language. Ms Nair spoke about two types of communication – verbal and nonverbal, giving more emphasis on the gestures and signals. She shared tips on how to improve our body language, whether at work or in college. An energizing dance-session was the highlight of the workshop and was highly appreciated by the girls. This session taught the girls the linkage between body language and communication.
