Since November Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) have been active in the Philipinnes to provide support to those who have been affected by the typhoon Hayian.
The response was one of MSF’s largest emergency interventions for a natural disaster in 2013. All MSF sections have raised a total of 32.4 million euros for this emergency (30 million euros from private donors and 2.4 million euros from public institutional donors).
What MSF has done during the last months:
171 international staff (expats) and 719 Filipino staff worked providing medical and humanitarian assistance to people
More than 95'000 patients were treated and 27'000 vaccinations were given through 8 MSF medical facilities and 133 mobile clinics
